DM Optical Selected as a “2025 Outstanding ESG Case” in China’s Transportation Sector!

To thoroughly implement the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and advance the national strategy of “accelerating the building of a strong transportation country,” the China Transportation Enterprise Management Association organized the 2024 ESG Report Rating and the 2025 Call for Outstanding Corporate Social Responsibility (ESG) Cases in the transportation sector.

Following a rigorous process—including expert review, public consultation, and final verification—DM Optical’s case study, “Holistic ESG Practices for Sustainable Transportation,” was officially selected as one of the “2025 Outstanding ESG Cases.”

For years, DM Optical has actively addressed the perceived conflict between ESG and profitability. Through technological innovation and standard-setting, the company has built a complete industrial ecosystem: green R&D – low-carbon production – safety-oriented applications. At the association’s annual ESG conference, Mr. Zhang Yadong, Director of DM Optical, delivered a presentation titled “Dual-Engine ESG Ecosystem Practice.”

Environmental (E): Green Manufacturing for Low-Carbon Growth
Adhering to the principle of “pollution prevention and continuous improvement,” DM Optical has invested over RMB 30 million in an integrated environmental system spanning underground, ground-level, and rooftop facilities:

• A geothermal heat pump system installed 100 meters underground saves nearly 2 million kWh annually;
• A regenerative thermal oxidizer achieves >98% exhaust decomposition, saving 7,285 tons of coal equivalent per year;
• 15,000㎡ of rooftop solar panels reduce CO₂ emissions by over 9,000 tons annually.
  Thanks to process optimization and clean energy adoption, energy consumption per unit is 18% lower than industry standards, and water recycling reaches 92%. The company holds ISO 14001 certification, is recognized as a “Green Factory,” and was named one of Zhejiang’s “Top 10 Green Development Demonstration Enterprises.”

Social (S): Empowering Safety and Communities
With “safeguarding safety” as its core value, DM Optical’s safety materials have been supplied to over 200 countries and regions, totaling more than 5 billion square meters, widely used in traffic signage, firefighting, and emergency response.
The company supports over 3,000 frontline workers through dual career development pathways and fosters harmonious labor relations. It has donated thousands of high-visibility safety kits and contributed over RMB 50 million to rural education, pandemic relief, and rural revitalization.
