Daoming’s Type IV Reflective Sheeting Successfully Completes Antarctic Weathering Test

From January to December 2022, samples of Daoming DM7600 Type IV Reflective Sheeting—in white, yellow, red, green, blue, fluorescent yellow, and fluorescent yellow-green—underwent a year-long environmental exposure test in Antarctica. This was conducted through the Zhejiang Offshore Test Technology Innovation Service Platform, simulating real-world service conditions under polar atmospheric environments.

During the test period, the materials were exposed to harsh natural phenomena, including polar day and night cycles, strong winds, low temperatures, and intense ultraviolet radiation.

According to the Chinese national standard GB/T 18833-2012 "Retroreflective Sheeting for Road Traffic", post-test inspections were conducted on the Reflective Films. The results showed:

• No surface damage or peeling

• Appearance, luminance, and chromaticity all met the required standards

Proven Durability in Extreme Conditions

Daoming had already completed a three-year natural aging test in the United States in 2021, becoming the first and only Chinese manufacturer to pass the NTPEP (National Transportation Product Evaluation Program)—a prerequisite for participating in U.S. traffic product tenders.

This Antarctic weathering test further validates Daoming Type IV reflective sheeting’s superior resistance to extreme environmental conditions.
