Daoming Optoelectronics Conducts Fire Evacuation and Emergency Drill

In alignment with China’s National Work Safety Month, Daoming Optoelectronics recently organized a fire evacuation and emergency response drill under the theme:
“Everyone Speaks Safety, Everyone Knows Emergency Response – Identify Hidden Safety Hazards Around You.”

The purpose of this event was to raise employees’ fire safety awareness, improve their self-rescue and mutual rescue capabilities, and implement effective measures to prevent and mitigate disaster risks.

Two-Part Drill: Evacuation & Firefighting Practice

The emergency drill was conducted in two phases:

1. Emergency Evacuation

2. Firefighting Equipment Practice

At the start of the drill, a simulated fire was triggered in a workshop due to aging electrical wiring, which ignited nearby combustibles. Thick smoke quickly spread throughout the area. Upon receiving the fire alert, staff immediately used the fire broadcast system to notify all personnel to evacuate via designated emergency routes. Everyone gathered in a safe zone, where group leaders conducted headcounts and reported the number of evacuated personnel to ensure that all had safely exited.

Targeted Instruction by Emergency Fire Rescue Team

During the event, the Emergency Fire and Rescue Team from the Development Zone provided detailed, targeted instruction based on seasonal characteristics and the company's actual working environment. Their training covered:

• Common fire types and fire prevention strategies

• Response procedures for early-stage fires

• How to issue alerts, evacuate, and escape

• Hands-on demonstrations of fire extinguishers, fire hoses, and CPR techniques

Hands-On Training and Group Practice

Employees then participated in group-based fire suppression and CPR practice, focusing on learning proper techniques and operating emergency equipment. Through this practical, standardized training, staff members became proficient in the correct usage of various firefighting tools.

During the drill, Deputy General Manager Guo Yumin praised the efforts of all participants. He emphasized the importance of cultivating a strong safety mindset, mastering fundamental fire safety, rescue skills, and uniting to build a solid foundation of workplace safety.

Focus on Safety Month: From Awareness to Action

June 2025 marks China’s National Work Safety Month, with this year’s theme placing greater emphasis on enhancing safety awareness and improving emergency response capabilities. Special attention was given to the importance of keeping evacuation routes clear and accessible, which can be critical in life-threatening situations.

As a result of this drill, all workshops were instructed to retrain employees and ensure full comprehension of the "Four Understands and Four Abilities":

• Four Understands:

  1. Understand the fire hazards of your position

  2. Understand fire prevention measures

  3. Understand firefighting methods

  4. Understand escape procedures

• Four Abilities:

  1. Ability to report a fire

  2. Ability to use firefighting equipment

  3. Ability to extinguish early-stage fires

  4. Ability to organize evacuation and escape

Through this emergency fire drill, participants significantly improved their fire safety awareness, self-rescue abilities, and hazard recognition skills. The drill also promoted the "Four Capability Development" initiative, helping employees master evacuation techniques and firefighting skills, ensuring personal safety, protecting company property, and maintaining safe and orderly operations.
